Customizing Shelter Pro
Shelter Pro is a highly configurable application. The configurable settings are viewed and/or modified by selecting 'Customize' from the main menu.

Users who have access to 'Customize'
It's important to understand that customizing Shelter Pro affects the entire system. These settings are not 'user-specific'. Rather, when a setting is changed it will affect how Shelter Pro operates for all users in the organization.
For this reason, it is often best to restrict access to these settings to a limited user(s) with the intention that the user(s) is responsible for administration of the system for the entire user group. Typically this access would be limited to a director and/or operations manager of the organization. With this in mind, it is possible and recommended that the user(s) who are granted this responsibility be given access to 'Customize' using Shelter Pro's User Administration feature. And the other users in the organization not be given this same access.
Layers of Customize
There are varying layers of Shelter Pro's configurable settings. The organization of these settings is defined as follows:
Customize - General Information
These settings are not module specific. These are the settings of the 'common' features that are shared across the various modules.
Customize - Animal Control module
These settings are specific to the features of The Animal Control Module.
Customize - Shelter Management module
These settings are specific to the features of The Shelter Management Module.
Customize - Animal Identification module
These settings are specific to the features of The Animal Identification Module.
Customize - Donations module
These settings are specific to the features of The Donations Control Module.
Customize - Traps module
These settings are specific to the features of The Traps Module.
Customize - Accounting Module
These settings are specific to the features of The accounting Module.
Customize - Shelter Pro Portal
These settings are specific to the features of Shelter Pro Portal.
Customize - Automation Mode These settings are specific to the 'automate-able' functions which are built into Shelter Pro.
Customize Staff, Vets, and Issuers This topic discusses how to define employees (staff, ACOs, lab techs) and various 3rd party organizations that may be known and relevant to your organization such as veterinarians, vet clinics, license issuers, vaccination issuers, and registration issuers.
User Administration This topics covers defining a Shelter Pro 'user', and the associated features within a user is allowed to access as well as features a user is restricted from accessing.
