Out of Jurisdiction addresses
Out of jurisdiction addresses
There are two ways that an address can be designated as 'Out of Jurisdiction'.
1. Marking the 'Precinct' with OUT OF JURISDICTION

The first method is to explicitly change the PRECINCT. In this example, notice that the PRECINCT value has been set to OUT OF JURISDICTION. When this is done the address is clearly flagged to be considered out of jurisdiction.
2. The city, state, postal, and/or county are not an 'In Jurisdiction' value
The second method is to create a custom list of 'In Jurisdiction' values so that the jurisdictional status can be derived from the address data values. This list is created under CUSTOMIZE/GENERAL INFORMATION/ADDRESSES.
The customize lists to be defined include:
- IN JURISDICTION-CITY,STATE
- IN JURISDICTION-COUNTY,STATE
- IN JURISDICTION-POSTAL CODE
To further explain this method, an IN JURISDICTION-CITY,STATE value of CONROE,TX was defined under CUSTOMIZE/GENERAL INFORMATION/ADDRESSES. Because this address is marked with THE WOODLANDS, TX it does not match an established list value (CONROE, TX) in this example. Therefore, the address is automatically determined to be OUT OF JURISDICTION and is flagged.
