Animal ID - Vaccination records

The next few topics will cover animal vaccination records in Shelter Pro. To set a framework for this discussion, there are a few things to keep in mind.

For 'Identification' purposes, Rabies vaccinations are primary

Shelter Pro has the ability to track all 'types' of animal vaccination records. However, for 'identification' purposes rabies vaccination records are typically treated as the 'primary' vaccination because the vaccination category is very common, and is typically a requirement for pet licensing purposes.

However, vaccination records can also include, and are not limited to other common vaccinations including:
1. Parvo
2. Feline Leukemia
3. Heartworm preventatives
4. And others...

Vaccination Types are customizable

Shelter Pro can be 'customized' to handle any 'type' of vaccination that your organization keeps records of. This includes vaccination types that will have a set duration and have an expiration date, and vaccinations that have a perpetual duration and do not have an expiration date.

Vaccination records are integrated with shelter medical tracking

Vaccination records can be entered directly subordinate to an animal record. In addition, vaccination records can be entered via the 'Case Medical' feature available with the Shelter Management module. This topic will be further covered shortly in this help section.
