Integration with the other modules

Animal Identification module records are sub-records attached to an animal. With this, when an animal is attached to a record the animal's ID records will also be readily accessible. Examples would include an animal attached as an 'animal involved' in an animal control incident, or attached to a shelter case record. Note how the animal's ID records show on this example from a shelter case.

To see the details behind a record, click the button. In the example, clicking on 'License Expired' would open the last license record that was posted for the pet.

Integration within the module

While each primary event type can be used independently, the Animal Identification module includes certain critical integration features which provide a seamless connections with other primary events. Examples would include:

When a new or renewed license is posted, it is very common that a rabies vaccination record will simultaneously be posted as a requirement of pet licensing. For this reason, both a license record AND a vaccination record can be entered on the same 'license' screen.
It is common for license fees to vary depending on a pet's sterilization status. For this reason, the pet's profile including sterilization indicator can be updated on the same 'license' screen.
While less common, some jurisdictions require that a pet have a microchip in order to purchase a license. For this reason, the 'proof of microchip' process will check the pet for a microchip id/record while posting a license sale.
The license forms have the option to include both license and connected vaccination record details.
