- Windows 11 / 10 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP / 2000 with Service Pack 3.
- The recommended minimum is Windows 11 or 10 with a minimum of 1GB of RAM.
- Shelter Pro is compatible with all common chipsets (Intel, AMD, Celeron, etc.). Keep in mind the primary requirement is Microsoft Windows and not the processor type. If it runs Windows, it will run Shelter Pro.
Technical Requirements for Shelter Pro Software
Operating system options
Shelter Pro is multi-user ready and can run on your network
Shelter Pro can run on your network which will enable multiple workstations/users to access and share the same database. Shelter Pro will run under common LAN/WAN/Server configurations as well as peer-to-peer networks.
Additionally, Shelter Pro can be run using:
- Remote Desktop / Terminal Services;
- Citrix;
- Thin-client configurations;
- Remotely using common services such as RDP, Citrix, GoToMyPC, LogMeIn, TeamViewer, WebEx, etc.
The database backend – SQL Server is required*
The most common deployment of Shelter Pro as a client/server application is with a SQL Server* backend database. The requirement is SQL Server 2005 or later. For the server, the requirements for SQL Server will far exceed Shelter Pro’s client software requirements. So the server must meet SQL Server’s requirements. SQL Server Express editions are definitely viable, just be sure to understand the database size limitation.
* SQL Server is provided by Microsoft and must be provided by customer. The purchase of Shelter Pro Software does not include the cost of purchasing SQL Server. Note that SQL Express is adequate for many customers as long as the database size will be less than the thresh hold imposed by SQL Express.
