Hardware/OS Requirements for Shelter Pro client software

Operating System options

	Windows 10
	Windows 8
	Windows 7
	Windows VISTA
	Windows XP
	Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3

 

The absolute minimums are:

	Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3
	512 MB RAM

 

The recommended minimums are:

	Windows 10, 8, 7, VISTA or XP
	1 GB RAM

 

eSignature pads - the following devices are compatible:

	Topaz SigLite 43 (http://www.topazsystems.com/products/siglitecolor43.asp)
	Topaz SigGem 57 (http://www.topazsystems.com/products/siggemcolor57.asp)

 

Compatible with all common chipsets (Intel, AMD, Celeron, etc). Keep in mind the primary requirement is MS Windows and not the processor type. If it runs Windows, it will run Shelter Pro. If there is any doubt, try the demo. If the demo runs on your computer, Shelter Pro runs on your computer. 

 

Shelter Pro is multi-user ready and can run on your network

Shelter Pro can run on your network, which will enable multiple workstations/users to access and use the same Shelter Pro database. Shelter Pro will run under common LAN/File server configurations as well as peer-to-peer networks. 

 

Additionally, Shelter Pro can be run using:

	SQL Server 2005 or later, including Express editions;
	Remote Desktop/Terminal Services;
	Citrix;
	'Thin-client' configurations;
	It can also be run remotely using common services such as WebEx or GoToMyPC.

 

SQL Server*

The option of running Shelter Pro as a client/server application with a SQL Server backend database is available. The requirements are SQL Server 2005 or later with SQL Native Client (which allows Shelter Pro to connect to a SQL Server instance). Your server must meet the Hardware/OS requirements specified for SQL Server. 

 

* SQL Server is provided by Microsoft and must be purchased independently. The purchase of Shelter Pro Software does not include the cost of purchasing SQL Server. 

* Be sure to review the support and pricing differences for the SQL Server/non-SQL Server options of Shelter Pro. These are found on the Order/Pricing page. 

* SQL Server Express (the free version) will work for your Shelter Pro deployment.
