The Person Database

The Person Database is a foundational component in Shelter Pro. The database stores information about each person who has ever been entered on the database.

To access the person database, you'll find the item 'Person Database' under each of modules shown on the main menu. Here is one sample showing 'Person Database' under the Shelter Management menu.

There are numerous ways a 'person' record would exist on the database including activities like:

Being a pet owner (current or former);
Having called animal control as a complainant or been identified as an owner of a pet involved in an animal control event;
Having owner surrendered a pet;
Having picked up a stray pet and turned it in;
Having licensed/registered a pet;
Having created an account via Shelter Pro Portal;
Having been added by the staff using Shelter Pro's 'New Person' function;
Having donated;
Having used a trap from animal services;
Having been converted from a legacy system;
Having been employed by your organization.
