Case View - Case Medical

The Case Medical tab is used to enter and view any medical related items for the animal while in the shelter.

Medical overview

Shelter Pro's detailed medical records are defined by the following three types:

Diagnostics Tests - we test animals for medical conditions, and capture a positive or negative result
Medications/Vaccinations - we treat animals with medications/prescriptions (if the animal is ill) and with vaccinations (preventative treatments)
Services - this includes common services such as a vet exam, spay/neuter, microchip implant, etc.

Add / Delete Medical Button

When a shelter case is initially created, a medical record will not exist until the 'Add Medical' button is clicked. This will 'open a medical visit' and it will then be possible to add any medical related detail records.

Once added, the same button will be re-labeled 'Del Medical'. This button could then be used to delete the entire medical 'visit' and all detailed records associated. Be careful with deletes! Delete means delete, record is gone and is not retrievable!

Closing a medical record

In the status, changing the status to 'closed' will cause the medical visit to become read-only. This will prevent new entries from being added. Note that when a shelter record is closed with a disposition (adopted, return to owner, etc), the open 'case medical' record will become closed automatically.
